The Ambassador program offers volunteers a way to promote NSFC and act as a resource in their communities for stomach cancer awareness.
No Stomach For Cancer Ambassadors help NSFC raise awareness for stomach cancer in their communities, and help introduce NSFC and its services to people in their communities.
Ambassadors agree to serve for at least one year, and can renew for additional years.
Working within established guidelines for NSFC, an Ambassador commits to the following for a one-year period:
- Hosting or participating in at least one Awareness event per year in their community. Examples could include: invite community members to your home or community center to present information about stomach cancer; staff a table at a community health fair, workplace wellness fair, church fair; offer to speak at a local event, etc.
- Distribute brochures or other NSFC materials to local clinics, community centers, etc.
- Contact local media outlets regarding Stomach Cancer Awareness Month and/or other newsworthy items
In exchange for a one-year (renewable) commitment, ambassadors receive:
- A No Stomach For Cancer Ambassador polo shirt to be worn at events promoting NSFC
- A packet of awareness materials to hand out (and more as needed) including brochures, wristbands, awareness cards, magnets, etc.
- Talking points about stomach cancer and NSFC
- Recognition on NSFC’s website and in Annual Report as an Ambassador
Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for this volunteer position.
Patient Support Program
This program is meant to offer patients and their families an opportunity to talk to trained volunteers near their city/state or province who can answer questions, offer suggestions for resources, provide emotional support, etc.

Walk Group Organizers
NSFC holds an annual worldwide Walk for stomach cancer awareness on the first Saturday of November.
Group organizers act as a point person in their local area as someone who selects a visible Walk route and invites others to join them.
Administrative / Clerical
Flexible, short-term administrative and clerical opportunities are available for those who would like to occasionally help with the daily operations of NSFC.
Volunteers located in the Madison, WI area are especially needed for these tasks.
Tasks include: helping with bulk mailings, assembling Walk packets, creating or editing spreadsheets, media outlet contact information research, brochure distribution, etc.
Website Development and Other Computer Based Tasks
Help with website maintenance and development, including:
- Implementing and enhancing E-commerce capabilities
- Site Map changes, development and maintenance
- Management of Google Applications including Google Analytics reporting
- Site Enhancements and additional functionality
- Integrating applications
- Content updates and revisions
Experience with WordPress a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Graphic and creative design experience a plus

Become an NSFC guest contributor to write interesting and relevant NSFC blog posts, newsletter articles, or feature stories. Use your writing skills to share factual information or personal experiences on topics from caregiving, to fighting stomach cancer, to genetics, to organizing a fundraising event or raising awareness in your community.
Third Party Fundraisers
Join NSFC in the fight by raising awareness in your community, and raising funds to support stomach cancer research. Host an event to benefit NSFC! Organizing an event can be a fun, creative and rewarding way to contribute to the fight against stomach cancer.
