Whether you are a patient, a survivor, a caregiver, or are at risk for any form of gastric cancer, including hereditary gastric cancer, you will find a real sense of community here.

Who has had their surgery done in Canada? Any suggestions on great doctors? Ones to watch for??

I would highly recommend Dr Carol Swallow and the team at the Toronto General Hospital/ University Health Network. Can't say enough about the excellent care and the easy recovery that I had. There is always someone to help you with questions and help guide you through the process.

Hi Olivia,

I may have missed this, but where are you in Canada? I don’t know of any doctors, but some of our Scientific Advisory Council members are at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver – perhaps they might have some recommendations.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I would travel anywhere in Canada for the matter of getting the best surgeon around…

Cathy – Dr Swallow was recommended to me and I am flying up to have a consultation with her this week. Is there anything that you can share about your experience there? My anxiety has been drastically increasing and it is becoming hard to function. I have no idea how long it will take to get in for surgery…
